Sometimes the sweetest therapy is beautiful music, and that’s what you’ll get from Dayton singer-songwriter, Kelly Campbell.

Though she got started on her true musical path a little later than some, music has been Kelly’s therapy and release since she was a young girl stealing in to borrow her brother’s guitar and put her poetry to music.  Now, she’s released her debut 5-song EP, Sweet Therapy, and is laser-focused on writing and sharing her music with the world.

I had an opportunity to stream all the songs from Kelly’s EP and found a beautiful soul in her lyrics, a lovely and refreshingly youthful voice, and strong country/pop songwriting at the core of each of her songs.  Each song is full of emotion and soul-baring lyrics straight from the heart that are supported by beautiful harmonies, smooth guitar melodies, and a wonderful rhythm section.   Right now, you can stream Kelly Campbell’s music online for free or get a copy of her album, Sweet Therapy, on iTunes, so go check it out today, get a copy of her album, and follow her on Facebook or on her site!

Inspired by the vibrant artistry of masterful pop and folk poets, Dayton, Ohio-rooted singer/songwriter Kelly Campbell crafts timeless, homegrown melodies and lyrics that capture vivid snapshots of her soul’s most personal, complex and resonant

moments. During her fearless performances, she unleashes poignant, honest memories like lightning bolts, using her dynamic voice and the strings of her guitar to illuminate the extraordinary rites of passage experienced within a heartfelt and humble life. Her original songs read like diaries, revealing intimate perspectives on love, hope and self-discovery and evoking the powerful spirits of the musical storytellers that have most affected her, including The Beatles, the Steve Miller Band, Lisa Loeb and Colbie Caillat.

Campbell has always believed in the healing and energizing power of a well-written song, reveling in the way it can conjure up universally-familiar emotions and grateful for the way music has helped her triumph over adversity and rediscover joy. In middle school, she began to experiment with songwriting, composing poems and piecing together delicate melodies in her head until, at 13, she enthusiastically embraced her first guitar, which she borrowed from her brother. Seizing every free moment to learn the intricacies of the instrument, she was finally free to unlock music as a way to express her successes and help her navigate the sometimes dark and twisting road of the human experience.

In 2012, Campbell continued to perform songs that made her heart feel good throughout the Dayton and Columbus Ohio areas. Her debut 5-song EP, Sweet Therapy, released by Area FX Music, is available NOW on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and the list keeps growing.
