Emerge Dog SocietyOut of the darkness of two decades of self-imposed hiatus, Atlantic Records alumni, Dog Society, are returning to the rock scene with the independent national release of their album, Emerge, slated for November 19th of this year!

BIO:  Formed by New York City natives Bruce Erik Brauer (guitar), (Guerzon (Bass) and Joe Ranieri (Drums + Percussion). Dog Society found the ultimate mouth-piece in Colorado based vocalist Brian Schnaak. With a sound that rivals anything considered innovative in rock music at the moment, Dog Society blasted through Test Your Own Eyes, their Atlantic Records / EastWest debut with a refreshing style and sound that established them an identity of their own.  Now they’re back with a great new album, Emerge, originally released in 2012 and co-produced by Rob Schnaapf and Tom Rothrock (of Beck and Elliot Smith fame), to rock our world with some killer indie jams!

Dog Society AdWith hooky lyrics and rhythms, this album is surprisingly diverse and filled with unexpected turns. While maintaining a consistently unique Dog Society sound throughout, you can definitely hear a major Beatles influence on many of the tracks (“Scraped“; “Pink Sun“), Dog Society Groupas well as the influence of some of the major artists that they’ve toured with including Sheryl CrowStone Temple Pilots, and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.  There are also hints of some southern influenced pop rock (“Salt“), hard, and acid rock (“Daymare“; “Spaceboots“), and I really dig how they’ve fused some darker tones into cooler, groovier pop sensibilities (“Aleja” and “Suffer A Smile“).

I also have to mention that multiple listens through the album, I’m just starting to comprehend the depth of some of the music; their use of a broad range of instruments and vocal harmonies in the production of the album really helps keep things exciting and fresh all the way through.   This 12-track album is one tasty musical meal that will leave you moving and grooving for hours after you finish listening, and you can stream it live over at their BandCamp page HERE, as well as get your copy of the album for just $5 or individual tracks for $1.
