Rap and hip-hop artist, Young HEAT, is no stranger to pain. Growing up right here in Dayton among some of the most corrupt elements of our city, his music reflects many of the dark realities that are often found, but commonly ignored or glossed over, in city life.

Young HEAT is not afraid to spell out the explicit content that has filled his life, and if you have ears that are too sensitive to deal with and empathize with the raw, dirty underbelly of city life, then “Everyday I Feel This Pain” will leave you bleeding and dead on your feet.

For those who aren’t afraid to venture into harsh reality, the new release reveals Young HEAT’s brimming lyrical righteousness and an almost vigilante type attitude.  It also shows someone who is dedicated to making solid music.   The sharp edges of the lyrics are perfectly softened by a smooth, modern backing track of keyboards and groovy electronic beats, and the song builds nicely with several different layers keeping the track full and dynamic from beginning to end.

While I initially found the backing vocal to be a bit over the top on the production, it actually works well on several fronts.  It has a great melody and helps keep the track rooted in the modern style of hip-hop.  The high pitches and melody also help to soften the direct blow of the lyrics. At the same time, the electronic tone of the vocal creates a nice edge that is reflective of the coarseness of the lyrical rampage taking place.

Young HEAT’s lyrics are explicit and direct, but when you look past the darkness of the lyrics, you can see a passionate individual just trying to live and share his life through music. With his newest release, “Everyday I Feel This Pain“, Young HEAT serves up his righteous lyrical warfare on a platter of groovy, electronic beats and smooth production.
