If you’re like us, you’ve been itching to start planning out your bands to see at the 2015 Dayton Music Fest. Yesterday, we got a sneak peek at which groups will grace Dayton’s stages for the newly branded Dayton Music, Art and Film Festival, and the lineup should get you excited for September already.

The 11th annual Dayton Music Festival is re-branded this year, branching out to the visual arts under new leadership by Great Guys Entertainment. The event is co-sponsored by Dayton City Paper and Bonbright Distributors.

 

 

 

As of Thursday, we now that Diane Coffee — the psychedelic rock alter ego of Foxygen drummer (and former Kim Possible voice actor ) Shaun Fleming — and R Ring, the musical lovechild of Mike Montgomery (of Ampline fame) and Kelley Deal (of the Breeders and the Kelley Deal 6000, also a Dayton native) will be two of the many bands performing throughout Dayton on September 18 and 19.

Not satisfied with this tease? You won’t have to wait long to get more information on the expanded festival. More news about film viewings and art offerings will be released on their website this Saturday in conjunction with Record Store Day 2015, and even more bands will be announced in coming weeks.

In the meantime, get acquainted with the bands below if you haven’t already. While the lineup features some regional and national groups, the bulk of the acts still call Dayton home, keeping the hometown love we’ve celebrated at Dayton Music Fest for over a decade alive.

Cincinnati-based rockers the Buffalo Killers are one of many acts announced to play the Dayton Music, Art and Film Festival in September. Stay tuned for more bands announced with the festival’s art and film components in the coming weeks.

Dayton’s garage rock boys the Motel Beds will play the Dayton Music, Art and Film Festival in September. Stay tuned for more bands announced with the festival’s art and film components in the coming weeks.
