The excitement has been building for months, but the wait is finally over for the 6th Annual Wham Bam Thank U Jam at Hannon’s Camp America in College Corner, OH, going down this weekend August 14-16!!!
Last year’s Wham Bam Thank U Jam brought a record crowd, and this year, the good folks at Love of Life Inc.
are pulling out all the stops for what promises to be their BIGGEST celebration to date! The annual celebration, now in its 6th year, is one of the most anticipated local festivals of the year! Much of the success of Wham Bam is due to the family of volunteers that make up Love of Life Inc. who work tirelessly throughout the year to bring together the annual celebration of art and music. Love of Life Inc. is dedicated to supporting our local communities with proceeds from the event going to area charities such as Dayton’s Kroc Community Center, the Dayton Food Bank, and the Gateway Men’s Shelter.
Love of Life inc. has a long history of promoting “diversity through music, art, and life experiences.” Their production of the Wham Bam Thank U Jam offers a unique atmosphere where music fans and performers are encouraged to interact with one another and celebrate life.
This year’s musical line-up is filled with an array of amazing talent, including The Almighty Get Down, winner of the Cincinnati Entertainment Award for Best Live Act of 2014. The stellar line-up includes other local favorites like Magic Jackson, Lemon Sky, Grover, Sharon Lane, Jah Soul, Killed By Art, Jonny Dreads & the Mystiks with many making their Wham Bam debut such as To No End, JoJo Stella, Strange Creature, Harlot, the Howard Brothers Band, Far From Eden, and Cleveland’s Tropidelic.
Emotions will be running high when Boogie Matrix takes the stage for their final appearance! The Toledo based band has been a huge part of the Ohio Jam band scene for nearly a decade. However, fans of Boogie Matrix have been in mourning since the band announced their “Last Hurrah” Tour earlier this spring. Since the announcement, Boogie Matrix has been crisscrossing the Buckeye state raging with fans and saying farewell. On Saturday night, Boogie Matrix rages one last time! I’m sure Johnny K and the guys have something very special in store when they take the Wham Bam stage for their final hurrah.
In addition to all the great music, there are many special events happening throughout the weekend, like Saturday’s
annual Disc Golf Tournament held at neighboring Hueston Woods State Park and be sure to check out the Wham Bam Secret Sanctuary with special performances by Chris Jackowski & Trance and John DeBoer’s Mystic Flutes. Baoku Moses will lead this year’s epic Drum circle, and don’t forget the lighting of the BIGGEST fire sculpture in Southwest Ohio.
Presale tickets are still available for $40 ($50 at the gate) at several outlets throughout the area including Vapor Cast – Mason, Chappy’s Tap Room – Dayton, Guitars to Gunstocks – Springfield, Rob’s Beer Barn – Dayton, and Hazy Shade Disc Golf – Dayton. Gates open Friday morning at 10am, and the music kicks off shortly after.
