With talent and a tremendous sense of compassion, country artist, Nick Nichols, has dedicated his life to music and to helping others.
Nichols has been performing professionally for more than 25 years, and recently, Nick and his writing partner, Bob Pennington wrote the song “Think Pink,” recorded by Nashville Star, Tammy Cochran, for the Susan G. Komen Greater Nashville Foundation, in support of Breast Cancer Research.
His songwriting experience and talent come to bear in his radio-worthy hit, “The High Cost of Loving,” currently in national rotation on Country Music Television, as well as his first single with Shine On Records called “The Other Side”, releasing worldwide on November 22nd.
The upbeat and rowdy energy of “The High Cost of Living” will have country music fans dancing nationwide, but there are several stars to award this song.
While Nichols voice has a strong masculine tone, there’s also a hint of softness around the edges that provides plenty of warmth and comfort. The lyrical story line is easy to follow and relate to, and the song flows smoothly from beginning to end. One of the biggest highlights of this song though, besides Nichols’ voice, is the stellar instrumentation, with hot licks on the guitar, piano, and fiddle that are saucy, smooth, and just the attitude this song calls for!
His debut single with Shine On Records, “The Other Side,” is a shining example of Nichols faith and ministry through his music.
While maintaining the fantastic vocals and instrumentation of “The High Cost of Living”, “The Other Side” has quite a different dynamic, emotionally and contextually. With its somewhat somber and reflective lyrics, Nichols has weaved his Christianity into this song in a way that’s not at all overstated and still absolutely shows he is a man of faith.
“The Other Side” and “The High Cost of Living” say a lot about Nichols’ diversity as a songwriter, and both songs are equally well developed and produced. Don’t take our word for it though! Check out the videos for both songs below and follow him online!
