Hey Dayton music fans! It’s time once again to RESTOCK THOSE SHELVES! Guitars to Gunstocks is proud to present RESTOCK 2016: A Musical Showcase to Benefit the Dayton Foodbank and Helping the Homeless. On Saturday, January 30th, join G2G, Music Connection Dayton, LLC, Artistic Delirium Tattoo, Oddbody’s and fantastic musicians and artists from around the Miami Valley for an amazing night of GREAT music and art!
Donations from RESTOCK 2015 totaled 1499 pounds of food along with $853 in cash donations!
For over 40 years the Dayton Foodbank has been helping keep food on the plates of those less fortunate.
During the holidays the Dayton Foodbank distributes tons of food to Miami Valley families in need of assistance, but with the depleted supply from the holidays, it’s crucial at this time to restock the shelves of the Foodbank! The RESTOCK 2016 charity event is meant to help to replenish the shelves of the Foodbank in order for them to continue their great work in our community.
This year’s event is also a drop-off for clothing donations (especially winter clothing) and ready-to-eat meals, collected by Helping the Homeless
Dayton.
Over the past few years, Dayton resident, Trena Elam has tirelessly organized collections through Helping the Homeless and has been combing the streets of Dayton and surrounding areas in search of those in need of clothing, warm blankets, and a little compassion. Elam’s work is an inspiration and proof positive that one person CAN make a difference!
RESTOCK 2016 is also a musical showcase and charity event featuring some of the area’s greatest talent! The eclectic line-up begins with the metal mayhem of Forces of Nature, followed by Menace 2 Sobriety, and the debut of Omeni. Then we switch gears and roll
into the Singer/Songwriter portion of the evening featuring three area favorites – Sharon Lane, Scott Lee, and Tony Herdman. Next, we ramp things up with the sounds of Far From Eden, Emily and the Lost Cat Ramblers, The Mainline Funk, and finish the night with a bang with The Big Damn Jam!
In addition to a night of great music, the evening will include live art by Bret Eikenbery, hooping, and awesome raffle prizes including a guitar, bass, band merchandise, tattoo and piercing gift certificates, survival backpack STUFFed with gear, 2 tickets to Wham Bam Thank U Jam 7, and an amazing piece of metal sculpturing by Bretamus Acidbery will be available through a silent auction!
