Dayton Underground Series at Jimmies - Coming Up for Air-090

Dayton’s underground music scene is putting out killer music, and Music Connection Dayton created The Dayton Underground Series‘ to showcase some of the best of Dayton area music!  The 4th show in the series took place on Saturday, June 18th at Jimmie’s Ladder 11 and featured cool Dayton area Indie Pop from Good Luck Year, Goodnight Goodnight, and Coming Up For Air!

We were stoked to have Good Luck Year kick off the evening’s festivities!   This 6-piece Indie Pop act has been busy writing, recording, and performing over the last year or so, with several local radio and TV appearances, multiple festivals, and 2, 5-track EP’s! Their music is friendly and full of harmony, while their lyrics are introspective and slightly brooding!  Their performance was right on and brought a fantastic fun and light energy to start off the night!   Check them out at:

We only recently discovered the dark, ambient goodness that is Goodnight Goodnight! This 5-piece Indie group formed in early 2015 has been rockin stages from West Virginia to Kentucky to Columbus and more with their ambient, dark shoegaze soundwaves and clean, bright, and completely haunting vocals! They’ve already opened up for such acts as Hawthorne Heights and The Story Changes and have released a 5 track EP that we’re sure will stay with you til the end of time! We knew they’d be perfect for this showcase with their clean, sweet vocals and a lovely contrast to the sounds floating through Jimmie’s that evening! We were not disappointed, and neither was the crowd!  They came out in style to support this hot, new sound!

Closing out this epic showcase of indie pop, we brought you Coming Up For Air!  This Indie Alt Pop trio  just released their 1st, full length album called “Between the Party Lines” in April, and it’s full of just about everything we love – angst, tension and release, social commentary, groovy breakdowns, dirty guitar riffs and much more!  Seeing them perform this live with the recent addition of a new bass player was epic, and picking up a physical copy of the album was the delight of our night!  Check them out at:
