bodu2016-fbeventcoverwebWe’re now at the end of Day 6 of Round 1 of the 2016 Best of Dayton Underground contest, and fans have boldly come forward about their love of Dayton area music with more than 14, 500 votes and 165 submissions as of our last online update!

This is one of our favorite times of the year because thanks to this annual competition, we discover so many new bands and artists!   We follow more than 600 local acts already, but each year, we’re stoked to find anywhere from 20-50 acts we’ve never heard before.   Here’s a capture of the latest voting results!

It’s important to us to give fans choices, so like last year, we started off each category with 5 submissions, including those acts nominated prior to the start of Round 1 by fans and those nominated by us.  More than double that number have been submitted by fans and local acts.

While there are winners chosen and prizes awarded, our main goal is to put more local bands in front of more faces, and ears, and we’ve already exceeded last year’s scope of reach, by far! Thank you!
If you haven’t already, we definitely would like to encourage you to check out some of this year’s submissions!
We also put out 7, soon to be 8, different compilation albums this year with 20+ local acts!   They’re FREE to download and put in your playlists today!
Until our next update, keep voting and discovering new music, Dayton!

Being that we’re trying to get as many names out there as possible, there may be a number of acts who are not actually eligible to move on in the contest.  Per contest rules, all final vetting of submissions will take place after Round 1 voting is complete.   Final results for Round 1 will be announced by 12/15/16 after accounting for all votes and vetting of acts.  To find out more information about 2016 Best of Dayton Underground, click HERE
