WHAT IS THE DAYTON UNDERGROUND SERIES?
Put simply, The Dayton Underground Series is a series of concerts and a contest, hosted by Music Connection Dayton, that features independent local music and businesses. On a deeper level, it’s an attempt to showcase the talented and diverse music scene in and around Dayton, OH; give everyone involved in local concerts a fair chance to be paid responsibly for something they love; give back to the community throughout the year with free, downloadable music compilations and collected clothing donations for homeless families and individuals.
The series will culminate in our Best of Dayton Underground (BODU) contest and End-Of-Year Bash, which begins and ends in December. 2016’s BODU featured 33 finalists in 11 different categories. There were more than 22,000 votes cast online in Round 1 of the contest, and more than 40 VIP locals (performers from the 2016 series, supporters, and press) rounded them up and called a winner!
