The Dayton Underground Series continued last month by featuring six phenomenal local songwriters at Jimmie’s Ladder 11 in Dayton, and the night was dreamy from start to finish! The crowd was completely lured in by music from Raya, Kyleen Downes, Kevin Milner, Todd the Fox & Victoria Harper, Sharon Lane, and Jeremy & Lynne and The Typical Johnsons!
Maybe you think songwriters just sit around and sing folk songs by the light of a campfire, but we brought together a diverse group of writers who showed the crowd at Jimmie’s that songwriters can be fresh, pretty, political, soulful, funny, and even a bit rowdy from time to time!

Music fans in the city dubbed as “The Land of Funk” unearth the phenomenon known as Here Come the Mummies!
Oddbody’s Music Room was packed tighter than the tombs these guys crawled out of, and the early start time didn’t keep fans away from this rager that also included local favorites, Magic Jackson and McGuff and the Dumpster Fires. Tickets for the show sold out days prior to the event, but thanks to some very good friends, we copped a pair of tickets for what turned out to be a show for the ages!

Friday Feb. 12, the Miami heat came back to Dayton in the form of GEARS. The Florida foursome brought two EP’s worth of material to the stage, a seasoned work ethic and an arena sized delivery. Mother nature’s foul mood didn’t keep the faithful from showing up to watch them churn out an hour long …
