DUS-Songwriter-7-9-16___redocompressedThe Dayton Underground Series continued last month by featuring six phenomenal local songwriters at Jimmie’s Ladder 11 in Dayton, and the night was dreamy from start to finish! The crowd was completely lured in by music from Raya, Kyleen Downes, Kevin Milner, Todd the Fox & Victoria Harper, Sharon Lane, and Jeremy & Lynne and The Typical Johnsons!

Maybe you think songwriters just sit around and sing folk songs by the light of a campfire, but we brought together a diverse group of writers who showed the crowd at Jimmie’s that songwriters can be fresh, pretty, political, soulful, funny, and even a bit rowdy from time to time!

Dayton Underground Series at Jimmies - Coming Up for Air-090

Dayton’s underground music scene is putting out killer music, and Music Connection Dayton created The Dayton Underground Series‘ to showcase some of the best of Dayton area music!  The 4th show in the series took place on Saturday, June 18th at Jimmie’s Ladder 11 and featured cool Dayton area Indie Pop from Good Luck Year, Goodnight Goodnight, and Coming Up For Air!

Dayton Underground Series - album cover - March 2016Last Saturday evening, The Dayton Underground Series kicked off to a packed house at WO Wrights Grill & Pub! Fans started arriving about an hour before the show, ready to hear some killer music, and that is exactly what they got!  

More than 170 people came out to hear Able Danger, Left in the Dark, and our Best of Dayton Underground 2015 “Best Rock” winners, Crosley Court, and it was a fantastic evening all around!  This was the perfect way to celebrate Music Connection Dayton‘s unofficial 3rd anniversary and the 1 year anniversary of W937 Dayton Radio, and we can’t even tell you how hard it was to wait to share this amazing music with you!   (more…)

 

 

Far From Eden at Bern Dayton Bern – Rockstar Pro Arena – Photo by Robert Nock

My band, Far From Eden, was invited to perform for the Bern Dayton Bern event that went down last night at Rockstar Pro Arena, and it was a fantastic event!

Campaign organizers worked really hard and whipped up this rally and voter-registration drive in less than a week’s time!  It was short notice, but that didn’t stop folks from showing their support!  (more…)
