Dayton Underground Series - album cover - March 2016Last Saturday evening, The Dayton Underground Series kicked off to a packed house at WO Wrights Grill & Pub! Fans started arriving about an hour before the show, ready to hear some killer music, and that is exactly what they got!  

More than 170 people came out to hear Able Danger, Left in the Dark, and our Best of Dayton Underground 2015 “Best Rock” winners, Crosley Court, and it was a fantastic evening all around!  This was the perfect way to celebrate Music Connection Dayton‘s unofficial 3rd anniversary and the 1 year anniversary of W937 Dayton Radio, and we can’t even tell you how hard it was to wait to share this amazing music with you!   (more…)

March 2016 will be the unofficial, 3rd anniversary of Music Connection Dayton, and we’re marking that occasion by partnering with local musicians, artists, and businesses to kick off a new monthly showcase called The Dayton Underground Series!  

Each of these themed events which will feature some of the most talented and hard-working musicians and bands from in and around the Dayton area, and we’ll be rotating locations to bring you shows at some the hottest spots to catch local music in our region!

Dayton, Ohio rock band, Able Danger, will compete in the Hard Rock Rising Battle of the Bands at the Hard Rock Cafe in Indianapolis, Indiana. Thursday March 12, 2015, Able Danger will represent Dayton in the first round of the Hard Rock Rising Global Battle of the Bands.

Able Danger placed 6th out of 116 bands in an online voting pole which allowed their spot in the first round. The winner from the first and second rounds will compete in a final battle to win $1,000 and advance to the next portion of the contest. The Grand Prize winner of the contest will perform at The Hard Rock Rising Festival in Barcelona, Spain.

If you would like to help support Able Danger in Indianapolis, admission is free and open to all ages. The show will start at 8:00 pm with Able Danger kicking it all off.

Every Tuesday in February, Moon Ranch Entertainment will be releasing a series of LIVE, in studio videos of extremely talented musicians from Dayton and the surrounding areas! Keep an eye on their Facebook page or here on our website every Tuesday this month to see some amazing artists!

Able Danger

For six years, guitarist Chris Stewart embarked on a life where it didn’t involve playing music of any kind.  “My wife  and I  owned a bar in Southern Indiana at one point last year.  Closed it down.  Moved to Florida on a whim,” Stewart    explained.  Before the decision to step away from music, Stewart was occupying his days being part of a band that  continued to be off and on throughout their high school days and a little afterwards.  One of the bandmates took a job  in  Denver to work for a church’s cable television station doing audio.  “I got invited to go out there and work on a  project  with a different drummer that he met, who was a pastor at the church.”  Stewart received the demos, bought  an airline  ticket, and flew out.  Soon after-Stewart comes back, packs his belongings and moves to Denver.
