GangstaRabbiCovereditedSteve Lieberman, better known as The Gangsta Rabbi, has always pushed the boundaries of what music is and can be! It’s a passion that he’s married himself to, and he’s out to prove it with his newest piece, and possibly one his last, “Terminator V617F”.

At first listen, many of you will be blown back by “Terminator V617F” and what seems like a lot of chaos and noise, but if you give this song a chance and a few listens, you’ll find it has marked qualities of “true expression and art” that are hard to ignore!

Def Leppard said “Love Bites,” The Vinnie Vincent Invasion warned “Love Kills,” and on this 13th day, the water logged guy with the machete regularly slaughtered those making love. So it was fitting on Friday, February 13th, everyone’s favorite pre-bloody Valentine’s Day, the Therapy Cafe held the Blackhearts Ball. Hearts, candy and flower’s done darkwave, experimental, shoegaze and industrial style, with lots of balloons to kick around. The masquerade masks, stilettos, makeup, leather and lace were on display and it didn’t really matter who wore what.

The inaugural Blackheart’s Ball was the creation of Curse of Cassandra and something they hope to repeat every year when love fills the night and the guy with the miners outfit and pick axe comes back. Why not celebrate Halloween twice a year?

Modnar cover artSubterralien’s new album, Modnar, is a unique sound experience that will either drive you crazy or leave you desperately seeking to find out what’s next!   Scheduled for release in late October 2014, Modnar, is a self-described “weird” combination of strange, spacey, alien and video game sounds and modern electronica straight out of the Australian underground.   If you like electronic jams that are out-of-the-box and not defined by today’s modern song tastes, Subterralien’s abstract and conceptual song design may be perfect for you!

Hanks Pub – Josh Deeter’s B-day Party  1.24.14

Close The Hatch – Really enjoying hearing these guys play! They are an experimental metal band blending a lot of different styles into their sound. They have a lot of progressive metal as well: forging new ways of playing, having new ideas on what Metal should be, and taking it to the next level.  At first it sounds soft, and then the voice comes at you like a battering ram, letting you know it’s DEFinitely NOT soft. It reminds me also of other melodic metal,  creating a picture or a work of art within the music. Their music sounds surreal when they slow down the tempo and it features the great bass lines. Guitar solos that light up the atmosphere, and the drums are dynamic.
Band Members:
2 Shauns, 1 Steve, a Rohr , and a Josh kill it when they hit the stage.
