January Spotlight: Bringing Back Style at Square Roots Records | Troy, OH

For those music fans still sitting at home every weekend reminiscing about the “good ole’ days” of amazing live music out with friends and without a set of earplugs, Square Roots Records in Troy, Ohio is bringing back Style, with a capital “s”!   Music Connection Dayton is extremely proud to have this hot, new Listening Room, Recording Studio, and Private Events Venue as our first spotlight of 2016 because of their outstanding professionalism, vision, focus, and community support!

NEW Venue Spotlight: Rockstar Pro Arena | Concert Venue & Wrestling Arena – Dayton, OH

Over the last few months, I’ve heard about a number of large shows coming out of Rockstar Pro Arena in Dayton. While I hadn’t had a chance yet to personally make a show there, I was curious as to what’s going down at this venue, so late last month, I contacted and met with part-owner, GeeGee Bradley, to feature them on our second Venue Spotlight!

NEW Venue Spotlight: Oddbody’s Music Room | Concert Venue – Dayton, OH

Many of you, myself included, have been buzzing about the newest concert venue in town, Oddbody’s Music Room, which will be opening this summer in the building formerly known as McGuffy’s House of Rock. The buzz and curiosity around this well-known area concert venue seemed like the perfect opportunity to start a new project that I’m calling Venue Spotlights! With each Spotlight, I’ll be featuring a different local music venue to provide a general overview of the venue as well as some questions tailored specifically to the venue.  Earlier this week, I had the amazing opportunity to spend some time at Oddbody’s Music Room and sit down with two of the venue’s new owners, Richard Eckhardt and Skip Murray, for a chat about what we can expect later this summer!
