The Dayton Music, Art and Film Festival released the first wave of artists that will grace Gem City stages September 18-19. Stay tuned for announcements on more sets, and art and film offerings for the former Dayton Music Festival’s 11th year running. CONTRIBUTED
If you’re like us, you’ve been itching to start planning out your bands to see at the 2015 Dayton Music Fest. Yesterday, we got a sneak peek at which groups will grace Dayton’s stages for the newly branded Dayton Music, Art and Film Festival, and the lineup should get you excited for September already.
The 11th annual Dayton Music Festival is re-branded this year, branching out to the visual arts under new leadership by Great Guys Entertainment. The event is co-sponsored by Dayton City Paper and Bonbright Distributors.

The crowd begins to form once again around the main stage during this year’s ninth Dayton Sideshow at the Yellow Cab Building, located on 4th Street this past May. It was the second and last day of the yearly art event, and already those who have been in attendance have observed some of the unlimited talent of the artists that reside in the Dayton community. Throughout the weekend, over 40 bands and artists will have performed on the three stages. It was getting later in the evening when the individuals of the hybrid collection of punk/rap Dip Spit made their way towards the platform.

Sideshow #8 will take place this year at The Yellow Cab building (700 E. 4th St) from 5 PM to 1 AM on Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11.
If you are an artist, musician or just a lover of the arts – You can participate! The Sideshow is an event run by volunteers and created by the artists and musicians who chose to exhibit their work. And we really mean created – this is a show where we encourage artists and musicians to push boundaries, to work together, to transform both the space and peoples’ experiences, to make magic happen for two days in Dayton. Got a cool idea you’ve always wanted to try? Run it by us! We encourage anyone to apply!
